e. Advanced Placement ( AP) Art History (also known as AP Art or APAH) is an Advanced Placement art history course and exam offered by the College Board . AP Art History is designed to allow students to examine major forms of artistic expression relevant to a variety of cultures evident in a wide variety of periods from the present to the past.
The categorisation of the past into discrete, quantified named blocks of time is called periodization. [1] This is a list of such named time periods as defined in various fields of study. These can be divided broadly into prehistorical periods and historical periods (when written records began to be kept).
Gardner's Art Through the Ages. Gardner's Art through the Ages is an American textbook on the history of art, with the 2004 edition by Fred S. Kleiner and Christin J. Mamiya. The 2001 edition was awarded both a McGuffey award for longevity [1] and the "Texty" Award for current editions [2] by the Text and Academic Authors Association.
