The little covers on the front will flip open if I move them, but the CD player doesn't slide out the way it used to (I remember having to be very quick to put the CD in place when the player slid out, but I can't even get it to slide out.

Pull Out the CD or DVD Drive Now slowly pull the drive out until it is fully retracted. Remove your stuck CD or DVD, and slowly push the drive bay back until the door is closed.
