It only backups a single character. This way you can backup your entire install, without needing to download the game again. Also, note, your character (like looks and items you have) is on the server. We're only backing up your HUD settings and similar things. Supplies needed: A USB drive that is around 100gb or so. The game is currently 56gb.
Then on my PC I did an ipconfig /release, an ipconfig /flushdns, and an ipconfig /renew to make sure everything on the PC was fresh. My PC is set to pull all info from the router. I was able to get past H2014.05.27.0000.0000a, and am currently on H2014.05.27.0000.0000d.
Noob question here. I purchased a pc download copy of this game last weekend from the SE site, but since had to system restore my computer due to my video card drivers went kaputt. How do i go about reinstalling the FFXIV client? My downloads got wiped and checked my confirmation email i got from SE and did'nt see a link to the download. Any ideas?

Download the FF14 installer for windows Add the installer as a non-steam game (with the command from my comment if you want to install it to an SD card) Set the installer to use the most recent version of proton Install the game Change non-steam game shortcut to point to the FF14 launcher you just installed, instead of the installer
Characters are saved server side so you'll just buy the PC version, install it, and log in. What you will want to do is go into your PS5 version, hit square on your character and upload local data to the servers, then on the PC version hit square/right click your character and download that local data.
This seems to come up infrequently, but I've never had download speeds that low except very early in the games life. I've noticed some ISPs don't like XIV very much, especially patch downloads. Ironically, I never had an issues with Comcast though. I have a 100 up/down connection and I get the full bandwidth when downloading patches.
