The only way to properly connect the iPod Classic is to hook it up to USB in the car. Does not need to have CarPlay, most cars are compatible with the iPod itself and show the playlists, artists, albums, songs etc views. May 31, 2013. #20. Well just returned the Belkin and ordered the Kinivo. The Belkin for just streaming audio was superb, but it failed badly in other areas. For some reason music audio which was streamed sounded great, but streaming a phone call was horrible, static, dropouts, and it sounded like they were in a bubble.
You need a 3.5mm to 2xRCA cable to connect the iPod, the converter, and an HDMI cable to connect to the car. The adapters are available for conversion in both directions, you need RCA to HDMI, just ignore the composite video input socket. Video display is disabled when driving on the Fit, but audio works fine.
I now use Bluetooth. I purchased the Carlinkit wireless activator for my Audi A4 with Factory wired carplay. Basically it is a WiFi to USB adaptor that uses Bluetooth to initiate the wireless CarPlay. I purchased it as the A4 comes with a wireless charging pad, but you still have to plug in for CarPlay. I paid around $126 for it.

I updated to 13.3 beta 2, and the issue is now resolved. From my testing, looks like it is an issue with only 13.2 on iPhone 11 series, as my wife's 11 pro has the same issue. However my kids iPhone X, 6s and XR all work fine on 13.2 in my car. Still getting the static on both ends of the call with 13.2.3.
When I unplugged my phone it went to the adapter connection screen and I then had to set it up via Bluetooth. I can't see how flashing the updates would brick it as long as the updates have completed fully and the device has the right power (not plugged into the car - I used my laptop's USB port to perform the updates).
