In searching around Yahoo, I found this and it worked! I needed to generate a unique password for Y mail using security settings. Sign in and go to your Account security page. Click Generate app password or Manage app passwords. Select your app from the drop down menu and click Generate.
Yesterday, I loaded Microsoft Outlook on to my Iphone and Ipad. On to my laptop I loaded Microsoft 365. My laptop is Windows based. I was able to configure my 2 email accounts, gmail and ymail onto the Apple products with no problem. I have not been able to get ymail account to function with Outlook on the Windows machine.

I had to open Yahoo Mail with a browser, log in and then go to Settings>Account Security>App Password>Generate App Password and use the temporary password it generated. Then both email clients added the Yahoo account successfully. Perhaps it will work for you too 🤞. AP.
