The admissions process begins with our Pre-candidate Questionnaire, available online starting March 1 every year. This online form gives you the opportunity to self-report important qualifications, including your grade point average, class rank and extracurricular activities.
July 15–January 31. Upon completion of the Pre-candidate Questionnaire, all pre-candidates will receive correspondence with guidance and next steps for the application process. U.S. Air Force Academy uses rolling deadlines whereby specific deadlines are posted on each applicant’s portal.
Candidates seeking appointment to the Academy must submit their completed application for admission to the Academy by the deadline posted on their portal. These deadlines are typically between November 1 and January 31. Consult your portal for the exact date.
To request a nomination in the Presidential, Children of Deceased or Disabled Veterans, Military or Civilian Personnel in a Missing Status, or Children of Medal of Honor Recipients categories, follow the guidelines on the applicant portal.
Our online Summer Seminar application opens December 1 and closes January 15. The last day to open an application for Summer Seminar is January 10. You will go through the same application portal as regular cadets when applying to Summer Seminar.
