Website. www .citywd .org. Wisconsin Dells is a city in Adams, Columbia, Juneau, and Sauk counties in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. A popular Midwestern tourist destination, Wisconsin Dells is home to several water parks and tourist attractions. [ 7] The city had a population of 2,942 as of the 2020 census.

The U.S. Census Bureau considers Wisconsin towns to be minor civil divisions. As of 2015, Wisconsin had 1,255 towns. [1] Towns often have the same names as adjacent cities or villages. [6]
As of the 2020 census, Wisconsin had a population of 5,893,718, and ranked 27th in the United States in population density. [8] [9] The center of population is located in Green Lake County, in the city of Markesan. [10] Wisconsin is divided into 72 counties, and has 190 cities, 407 villages, and 1250 towns. [11]
Five counties in Wisconsin have been renamed, but otherwise kept their same borders. [ 11] Bad Axe County existed from 1851 to 1862. It was named after the Bad Axe River and the Battle of Bad Axe. It was renamed to Vernon County in 1862. [ 12] Dallas County existed for 10 years, from 1859 to 1869.
