I then tried using the MCPR which seems to have worked for most other people but for me it said that the uninstall couldn't happen as there was Enterprise software detected. I then tried to use Registry Editor to uninstall it via cmd but the instructions provided by McAfee for this are vague and it still didn't remove the McAfee software.

McAfee is extremely difficult to remove from Windows, it dets int every corner of Windows and that MCPR tool is the best option to clean McAfee from your PC. If you are experiencing difficulty with the MCPR tool, then re-install McAfee on your PC, restart (not shut down) your PC, and then run the MCPR tool again. Power to the Developer!

McAfee is very hard to remove from Windows, but usually the MCPR tool will successfully remove it. Have you tried manually deleting those few McAfee folders from places like your Documents folder, and AppData - Roaming and AppData Local, most of those files are located in those filers. Power to the Developer!
Note: this process applies to uninstalling most McAfee products. When you run this process on any licensed McAfee product, be sure that your computer is online so McAfee knows that you uninstalled the product and can set the license status to available for use. I recently purchased a dell laptop (windows 10 )with a free trial of McAfee. I do not wish to use McAfee so I uninstalled the program via add/remove programs. I noted some McAfee files remained on my PC, therefore I also ran MCPR tool. The files are still there. if I search for McAfee on my laptop I am still finding files.
