Hey Milly Shapiro has a Cleidocranial Dystosis, which is a rare disease that affects her bone structure. Gaten Matarazzo (Dustin from Stranger Things) also has it. I guess it was to enhance the movie, although she is an renowned actor and singer (Matilda in Broadway).
It was talked about (briefly) during a New York Times interview. Milly, and her older sister Abigail both inherited the condition from their mother. They discussed it while talking about their "no bullying" campaign. I wish they spoke more about it, like the kid from Stranger Things. Awareness stops ignorance.
nope ! they both have sisters called abigail shapiro which is where the initial confusion comes from i believe. both of them are also trained singers, however millie shapiro's sister is 20 while ben shapiros sister is 10 years younger than him and therefore 26. edited for typos
There are subtle makeup effects used to make her face more "off", so there's that, but also the actress (Milly Shapiro) isn't just some girl they cast because they thought she was ugly. She's an accomplished Broadway actress (she originated the main character in the "Matilda" musical and won a Tony for it).
This week Drinking And Screaming (a queer and feminist horror movie review podcast) released their episode on A24’s Hereditary, and it features a huge interview with actress Milly Shapiro (Charlie)!
Common Milly Shapiro W. Her beheading in the last pic 😭 ️ okay miss camp
milly shapiro's sister is also named abigail. ben shapiro's sister is also named abigail. but these abigails are not the same person. I'm assuming abigail is a common jewish name, and shapiro is a jewish last name. they have a twitter called shapirosisters and you can see that the abigail shapiros are different people.
As someone with Autism I fucking agree, I adore her because she reminds me quite a bit of myself. Milly Shapiro's description of Charlie kinda just sounds like how it feels to be autistic too. (at least in my case) I know she's possessed and I'm not denying that, but I like to imagine she has it alongside a demon.
The film stars Milly Shapiro as daughter Em and Walking Dead's Pollyanna McIntosh as mother Selma, and follows Shapiro's rite-of-passage griffin hunt to kill a mythical creature as part of a womanhood initiation - an ordeal that doesn't go quite as planned as familial tensions, intergenerational conflicts and buried traumas prevail instead.
