I think the "however the installation is optional and can be deselected during the install process" is disingenuous because it doesn't label it as spyware; it says "Daemon Tools Search Bar - sponsor displays contextual links and offers (Internet connection required)". I presume this is the spyware, but it's masquerading behind technogibberish.
