Now RPCS3 was able to detect it and add it to the list, but when I try to play the game, it says "Booting failed: The selected file or folder is invalid or corrupted. For information on setting up the emulator and dumping your PS3 games, read the quickstart guide." So my questions are...
RPCS3 default settings are heavily unoptimized for weaker CPUs. People with more capable 8+ threaded CPUs can just brute force through everything and not worry about tweaking. These are the settings you should change (parenthesis are the defaults): CPU tab: Preferred SPU Threads (Auto): 3 or 2.
Either it freezes the game and I have to reboot the game, or it freezes and then crash the RPCS3 completely. I'm about to go to the desert (just saved Oracle), and the next save point is too far for me to reach it before it freezes the game screen or just hard crash all the RPCS3. use driver wake up delay in the advanced tab in the settings put ...
Launch RPCS3 and make a shortcut to it you can easily access. Once the emulator has finished generating files, click file>Install Firmware and find and select PS3UPDAT.PUP, the file you downloaded from Sony's website earlier. Didn’t know that Bayonetta 2 was released on PS3. Borderlands is unplayable, as it will crash/freeze when trying to save the game. So, sure its playable, if you can complete the whole thing in one sitting! otherwise, back to the beginning you go. I tried to run 25 of the 25 games shown. No one worked.
PCSX2 doesn't run games as well as RPCS3 Factually inaccurate, RPCS3 is still in its infancy and can't play most games, and many of the the games it does play still have performance and graphical issues, if not worse. PCSX2 is a seasoned PS2 emulator that runs games extremely well and works great for thousands of people, myself included.
RPCS3 v0.0.28-15314: New option to automatically pause emulation when the window is not focused. Update. An option to automatically pause emulation when the emulator window is not focused was added in the "Emulator" tab of the settings window on RPCS3 v0.0.28-15314. This allows for lower CPU usage when multi-tasking, thus lower power ...
