My mechanic is suggesting replacing the rear right shock absorber. I have the model with self levelling suspension and adaptive drive. I've also noticed when I press the 'sport button', it does not turn on ...

SensaTec is vinyl. If you want vinyl in a $70K car, that's fine. Even with Dakota upgrade, now $1500, you cannot get multi-contour seats. They have screwed us over this time. You need to spend the $2500 for Nappa to get MC seats. And this from a long-time BMW owner who has been extolling the ability to order your BMW with the exact equipment ...

To answer your original question, the runflats are Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric. I ordered my M550i with the runflats, and added the spare tire in case I wanted to switch to non-runflats. At 11k miles now, I like them so much I'll probably replace them with the same tires. They are, surprisingly, very good.

1 - The transmission shift points change (very obvious). 2 - The engine becomes more responsive for a given amount of throttle application. 3 - The suspension becomes stiffer. 4 - Power steering provides less assist. If all this happens, except for the transmission shift point changes, the other effects are very subtle.

    4) He suggests: (1) that fact (wastegate never opened during whole pull), AND (2) that "so much less boost when duty cycle limited to ~ 85%" BOTH indicate "dying turbo"/ "on its last leg" -- Turbo Ain't Producing Sufficient BOOST. 5) I see NO suggestion that there is a problem with the Wastegate. That is my "MUCH less than expert ...

To properly use BMW Fault Code Lookup site, in addition to engine variant, one must know to enter the ECU variant. Some older engine variants have two dozen ECU variants. I can generally figure the engine variant from the common name, year, and platform. How can one learn the particular ECU variants for all BMW platforms?.

  11. Implications of not having "Co2 Content" option - BimmerFest BMW...

Based on searching this forum, it seemed like "Co2 Content" is related to some software for emissions and for US BMW's it should just be there. This particular one is a 2011 xDrive, fully loaded (as in M sport, adaptive drive, 4 zone climate control, PP, PP2 etc) would appreciate if anyone can throw some light on this Co2 option mystery. thanks.
