  2. Refresh Rate Multitool .exe - [H]ard|Forum

1,126. By default, it runs with vsync on, so it will run at 120 FPS if your monitor is running at 120 Hz. If you make the app run at 90 fps on a display running at 60 hz, you will definitely see a lot of image tearing, and there will be artifacts because of the FPS and refresh rate mismatch. 3. Asus MG279Q Refresh Rates - [H]ard|Forum

    hardforum.com/threads/asus-mg279q-refresh-rates.1869190

The Benq Z series monitors with the Mstar scaler (I do not know about the XL2730Z), including XL2430T and XL2720Z, can run at almost every refresh rate from 60hz to 144hz in 1 hz increments, without any skipping, with some exceptions (76hz with a custom vertical total randomly goes out of range on mode set), and can backlight strobe (blur ...

First disable vsync. To do that, change glfwSwapInterval (1) to glfwSwapInterval (0). Then, you will probably get over 1000 FPS depending on your setup. You'll want to lower it, so add a sleep for 1/90th of a second. Add glfwSleep (1.0 / 90); just before glfwSwapBuffers () in the main loop. That probably won't get you EXACTLY 90 FPS, but it ...

  5. VRR/Freesync Nvidia Display test thread - [H]ard|Forum

    hardforum.com/threads/vrr-freesync-nvidia-display-test...

VRR makes every game look good, but whatever you test I'd shoot for a target FPS range of 60-100. So far in my experience G-SYNC seems to look best when framerate is around 60% of the max refresh rate.

  6. Check Fps higher than monitor refresh rate? - [H]ard|Forum

    hardforum.com/threads/check-fps-higher-than-monitor...

Wondering if there is a way to check what your maximum fps would be if your PC can push higher than the maximum refresh rate of the monitor you are using? Reason, I have a 270hz 1440p monitor, and I want to know if I now get a 360Hz 1440p monitor, if my RTX 4090 powered PC can push beyond the maximum 270 fps limit I have reached on my current ...

  7. Steam Deck: Overclock & Undervolt Results - [H]ard|Forum

    hardforum.com/threads/steam-deck-overclock-undervolt...

With this tool you can overclock your refresh rate up to 70hz. I tried 70Hz on my display, didn't work, it would black screen after 30 seconds or so, so I settled with 30Hz-60Hz (the program ranges 20Hz-70Hz). Thought I'd share incase anyone else wanted to give it a try on their deck.

  8. Reducing refresh rate below 50hz - [H]ard|Forum

    hardforum.com/threads/reducing-refresh-rate-below-50hz.2024255

Going to something like 40Hz will be much worse. Each 10Hz at these low refresh rate video modes will add more and more input lag the lower you go. And again: going from 50fps to 40fps on VRR monitor also adds more input lag but much less than by changing video modes from 50Hz to 40Hz and running v-synced. Dec 20, 2022.

This can reduce the tearing effect significantly.Otherwise, there may be more visible tearing if you run at a frame rate too close to your refresh rate, during VSYNC OFF operation. Also, there can also be harmonic effects (beat-frequency stutters) between frame rate and refresh rate. For example, 119fps @ 120Hz can cause 1 stutter per second.

  10. G-sync On vs. Off in FPS games? (my observation). - [H]ard|Forum

    hardforum.com/threads/g-sync-on-vs-off-in-fps-games-my...

If that is the case then G-SYNC is useless to you. There is no use for G-SYNC if you're running FPS that is >= to your monitor's refresh rate. In the case of "competitive" I would think FastSync would suffice. You'd get the benefits of having the game loop running full tilt while eliminating tearing.

  11. Blur Buster certified monitors - [H]ard|Forum

Instead, you must adjust your refresh rate and frame rate, until they sufficiently converge. Pulse width is useful for reducing motion blur but it’s really 0.5ms MPRT vs 1.0ms MPRT versus 2.0ms MPRT, which is tiny differences compared to the original Hz (120Hz nonstrobed = guaranteed minimum 8.3ms MPRT(100%) worth of motion blur).
