It provides the smoothest and quietest performance. However, for the Jeep I would recommend our second favorite which would be the Amsoil Manual Syncromesh which specifically mentions that it meets the Chrysler specifications. Specifications. In most manual transmission and differentials, you use a 90W oil. I think though in the case of the S10, you really should use the Blue stuff from GM.
The Chrysler NSG370 is a six-speed overdrive manual transmission sourced from Mercedes and built in the Stuttgart Transmission Plant. [1] It is Jeep's first six-speed manual transmission and Chrysler's second after the Dodge Viper T-56. The NSG370 does not use standard gear oil for lubrication.
NV3550 Transmission Oil Recommendations. I have a 2001 Jeep Wrangler, 4.0-liter engine with 5-speed transmission. According to the FSM it is the NV3550 transmission and according to the FSM you should ONLY use P/N 4761526 (Note the word 'ONLY' is in bold letters in the FSM as well). The local Jeep dealership updated the P/N to 4874464AC at $40/Qt!

Per the manual: We recommend you use MOPAR®️ Manual Transmission Lubricant meeting the requirements of Chrysler Material Standard MS-9224. Personally I use RedLine MTL, it works very well in there and meets the Chrysler standard - which is important because of bronze synchronizers you can’t use just any gear oil. It takes 1.6 quarts.

Everything I read, every YouTube I watch, says the capacity is 1.6 quarts....or fill it until the fluid starts to come back out of the fill hole. I put two full quarts of Royal Purple Syncromax into it and ...
I use Royal Purple Synchromax - it's listed as a "transmission additive" but it's actually the fluid the NV1500 transmissions use. Usually 3Qt does it for me. '98 2.2 ZQ8 - Under rebuild. 2.4L LE5 Ecotec, Solstice trans, Ford 8.8 Posi IRS Rear, Undecided boost, 100% rebuild ground-up.
