I was having the same problem trying to get rid of Optimizer pro v3.0. (Different from PC Optimizer Pro) Strange as it sounds, I downloaded the installer for this program, re-installed it, then ran the uninstall again. The problem was that the unins000.dat was corrupted or missing. The only way to get it back is to do a re-install.

5) No You donot need optimizer apps. Keeping a proper maintenance schedule in the system as well as ensuring your system remains up to date is the best thing that can be done. In my personal experience these apps do more harm than good. Igor Leyko.
