    Both Depth Raider and Sub Troll have coated downrigger cables. You take off your original and replace it with their coated cable. Signals go from the probe through the cable and then from an antennae mounted on your boom through a coax back to your unit. Not sure about Canon or FIshawk. The cable is not difficult to change.

    Canon, Off the 94 bridge is good. In my opinion, there always seems to be a lot of boat traffic there though. I usually try to find a spot where the water is flowing pretty good. Like a dam or resevoir. They seem to like to hang out where the water current is fast.

    GE, flashy flutter spoons and rapalas are about all I ever use. I usually make sure I have a couple patterns that look like rainbow smelt, which the lake is filthy with, but I've had my best success in open water over the last couple years with a 4-5 inch flutter spoon with a natural black/bronze finish on top and a hammered hex chrome underneath.
