I can login to my AOL/Verizon account on the web with a browser with no problem. The inbound/outbound server settings in Outlook are what are specified. And yes, AOL/Verizon uses Yahoo since they own all three. Inbound: Server - imap.mail.yahoo.com. Port - 993.

Actually one of my Verizon accounts has been resolved! The issue it would appear is indeed as Greg (above) had suggested and I had suspected. It is the case of Verizon migrating everyone's eMail to AOL. Once it is done and you go through their signup process directed by Verizon, everything is back to the way it was.
If Verizon lets you keep the email address, you can certainly keep it configured in Outlook otherwise what you need to do in Outlook depends on how (POP or IMAP) the account is configured. To confirm how the account is configured, from within Outlook, go to. <File> --> <Account Settings> --> <Email> tab.
