Jeff Handy said: This might just be a rumor, but I have heard that Rheem heaters in the big box stores are not as good as Rheem heaters from a plumbing supply house, they cheapen them up. Twowax pbly has input on that subject. Years ago the moen rep told me that the faucets were made different for the box stores.

Today I tried to install a new Rheem 42,000 grain water softener. We had been having low water pressure inside the house but no issue with the hard water spigots outside. After I hooked everything up I put the manifold in bypass and turned the water back on. I had water flowing inside my house at this point. I then slowly transitioned the ...

The engineer who owns the company said my iron level was low enough that a softener with Iron Fighter salt pellets would work for my situation because of the relatively low iron levels. I will reinstall the GE cartridge filter after the water softener. I have set up a plumbing bypass of the water softener for future maintenance inevitabilities.

TX. Sep 20, 2023. #1. Hi, I have a 10 year old clack valve softener 48k grain that still works fine, but I can tell the resin is ready to be replaced...again. It's at least $300 for resin and gravel. Or I could just buy a new 42k grain Rheem at Home depot for $529. I believe the Rheem is more efficient. The clack has been a reliable valve, but ...

Hello, we're getting a lot of limescale on our fixtures, and I'm unclear how much a water softener would help. According the town water department our total hardness is 2.2 grains or 38 ppm. From my research that means not very hard. None of my neighbors have water softeners. I don't want to...
