I don't think this is a hot take tbh and in my experience the people who say this are from some of the largest cities in the country or travel a lot (said by someone who also thinks a lot of the food in ann arbor is mid and travels a lot)
Michigan is pretty dope when it comes to “culture”. I’d say you can’t really go wrong, unless u don’t make an effort to seek others. I personally like Michigan bc of its understanding and challenging characteristics.

The University of Michigan Ann Arbor and UM Dearborn are not even close to the same thing. They are completely separate degrees. The University of Michigan Ann Arbor is considered to be one of the top universities in the world (arguably the best public school in the country).
