I recently updated whatsapp web for my pc browser (Chrome) and I got signed out from Whatsapp Web. When I try to link the device again, the page shows the QR code as always, but when I try to scan de code from my phone in the app, it doesnt detect anything. I repeatedly get the message "Cant scan the code? Exit and relaunch the app".
i suggest you to format and reinstall your operating system. or try another browser. ok right now i have tested whatsapp beta for desktop from ms store and everything is fine now. i am sure whatsapp beta for desktop uses another profile folder so there won't be a collision with corrupt data.

Unfortunately, the only way is to migrate WhatsApp to a device that does have a relevant camera. But as the article in the question's first comment mentions, you can emulate such a device and thus use WhatsApp directly in your computer (i.e. run Android in your computer).
In the meantime, my problem got solved : I got an update of WhatsApp on both my phone (2.20-2005.169 and my Mac (Version 2.2047.10). With those 2 versions, I can connect WhatsApp Web and WhatsApp Mac with my Samsung phone again. I've tried both login methods for whatsapp web including both the QR code method and the code method where you enter a phone number. For the QR code the whatsapp application of my phone outright refuses to scan the QR code provided to me in the web browser.
