Like many others, I wasn't able to view the new Newsmax+ for the last 2 days after subscribing/paying, searching for a new "plus" app, updating the existing app, looking for a login/subscriber code entry, deleting and re-installing the app, power cycling the Roku, etc. NOTHING worked and it was extremely frustrating and disappointing that Newsmax didn't do a better job of rolling this out and ...
It appears that the Newsmax app itself via ROKU TV will not load &/or stay up & running. I'm able to watch via ROKU CHANNEL live & via laptop browser with no problems. I've uninstalled app & reinstalled app on ROKU TV but with the same results. I submitted info to Newsmax via their online support link & provided feedback also via Newsmax app.
On November 1, 2023, looks like Newsmax will be going behind a paywall. They will end their free streams on the various streaming LiveTV services like Roku and others. You can sign up for Newsmax+ for a free trial to continue watching on mobile/streaming devices through a standalone app. They will apparently offer Newsmax2 (N2) for streaming ...
I had deleted and then reinstalled the app. This did not help. Somewhere I read that an option was available to automatically have all apps updated. I did not find this. Updating the Roku system app might also update all apps... I found that this newmax app needed to be manually updated and I suppose that they fixed this the other day as you say.
A temporary workaround is to go into the existing standalone Newsmax channel/app on your Roku device and select the personality you want to watch. (then select "episodes") I noticed the 11/01/23 episodes are there for many of them and they played fine. (I do not have the Newsmax+ account).
The below is what it says as of 1:00 EDT November 2, 2023. So, while I believe that the issue with not having the App should be laid on Newsmax, I lay the blame on ROKU for not having an updated page for the old app and saying things about the "old" app that are not true. Re: NEWSMAX PLUS IS A GO, they heard our complaints and fixed things. Did you make sure that you "highlighted" the newsmax APP, then hit the * button and click "check for updates" first. You have to do an update first before you can get the new app to sign into. 11-02-2023 06:18 PM.
