Jan 17, 2016. #1. Hey guys! A few months ago, my previously trusty 4th gen 20 GB iPod photo's (with the color screen) hard drive died on me, so I've been waiting for a good time to buy the necessary equipment to replace the hard drive with a flash card or SSD. Today, I ordered from Amazon, a 1.8" iPod to Compact Flash Adapter, a Compact Flash ...

  3. iPod touch iPod Touch DFU mode unrecognized in iTunes

    forums.macrumors.com/threads/ipod-touch-dfu-mode...

The iPhone 4S runs iOS 9.x, the iPod touch runs iOS 5.1.1. I had to restore the iPhone in DFU mode. That worked fine in macOS Sonoma 14.6.1 with the Finder for the iPhone 4S, probably because iOS 9 is much newer. However, the iPod touch kept giving me the same error, the iPod restarted and no longer in DFU mode. But it was still in DFU mode.

I've owned the third, fourth mono, fourth color, and fifth generations, the iPod Mini, and the first gen shuffle. It's taken me until this past week to acquire the 7th Gen iPod Nano. I am blown away by this minuscule device.

    forums.macrumors.com/threads/connect-ipod-classic-to-new...

You need a 3.5mm to 2xRCA cable to connect the iPod, the converter, and an HDMI cable to connect to the car. The adapters are available for conversion in both directions, you need RCA to HDMI, just ignore the composite video input socket. Video display is disabled when driving on the Fit, but audio works fine.

  7. iPod Classic is no longer compatible. What now? - MacRumors...

    forums.macrumors.com/threads/bought-a-new-car-ipod-classic...

Its likely your car may be able to read audio from USB flash. Worth a shot - just copy your media to USB stick and see if it will read it. My Alpine head unit will do that, purchased last year. That said, if your car is carplay compatible, i'd definitely consider getting an iphone and kill two birds with one stone.

i tried restoring the ipod with mac (10.5.4) and iTunes 7.7.1 to no avail, then i used disk mode, which worked until it asked me to restore the iPod -- then it was the same old same old. so i then proceeded to get out my 9 year old thinkpad running windows xp pro and iTunes 7.7.1, restored the iPod with the thinkpad, then the loop started again.

    2. Jan 17, 2020. #1. Hey everyone. I got my hands on an iPod 5G (iPod Video), replaced the battery, put in a new SD Card, and it’s been great. The interface is just dated compared to other Apple products so I’m trying to update it to look more like Apple Music. I’ve gone through some wacky lengths to achieve this so far - downloading ...

  11. Installing an SSD into an iPod Classic in place of the hard drive

    forums.macrumors.com/threads/installing-an-ssd-into-an...

Now the iPod Video back plate comes off rather easy with a little prying. Going the SD card you limit yourself from putting an upgraded battery in. Going with the mSATA you can use the 2000mAh extended battery. And Matthew is incorrect about "Fat" iPods. All 5G and 5.5G iPod Videos are able to handle 128GB+ with stock firmware.
