Jun 6, 2021. #1. Before CB licensing was ended in 1982, records of CB licenses were publicly available on microfiche published by the National Technical Information Service. I recall it was a large and expensive dataset, some 450 fiche. For a research project, I'm wondering whether anyone has an old microfiche set of the CB license database ...

Dec 19, 2002. Messages. 1,059. Jan 12, 2008. #8. Since the FCC is unable to provide older Ham licenses, it's unlikely they could provide old CB licenses. If it's not in their database, they don't have the info. That is, if a ham wants an older license's info, it's gone. When you update your license, the FCC does not retain archives of 'old ...

One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola). This is a large and very visible forum.

In the US, CB radio has not required a license or issued call signs since around 1975. Currently, everybody with a CB radio is automatically deemed to have a license. The FCC calls this “license by rule”. According to the FCC: "You are not required to transmit a station identification announcement.

  8. CB License dimensions from the late 70's or early 80's?

    forums.radioreference.com/threads/cb-license-dimensions-from-the-late-70s-or...

It appears they were the same size from the mid 70's until the FCC dropped the license requirement. I did notice during my research that the layout changed a bit from time to time but do appear to be the same dimensions. Yep understood, we're talking about quite a number of years difference from 1965 to late '70s.

  9. CB License dimensions from the late 70's or early 80's?

    forums.radioreference.com/threads/cb-license-dimensions-from-the-late-70s-or...

This past week I decided to recreate my old CB license issued around 1980 or thereabouts, but I do not know the exact dimensions to size it properly. So far I have the correct format, have found the right fonts, and the layout is as exact as possible when comparing it to the many examples I have found on the internet but am lost on the correct ...

Swartz Creek, Michigan. Mar 20, 2024. #11. KQ4OFQ said: Truthfully I am unaware of the legalities of using a 10 meter radio on 11 meters, I assumed that since cbs don’t require licensure it was a non issue. While they don't issue a personal license any more, there are rules and regulation on the fcc.gov web site.

You got ripped, KMD-7606 cost $5 in June 1965 and each 5 year renewal still cost $5 until the requirement was dropped and I dropped CB with all the madness.
