Replied on May 7, 2015. Report abuse. You obtain the degree symbol ° with Option Shift 8 and the masculine ordinal º (in some fonts it carries an underline) via Option 0 (that's a zero). If that does not work in the sidebar, access Word's main menu bar at the top of the screen and use. Edit > Find > Advanced Find and Replace.
