    Probably better profit margins. Maybe they take the view that sending clubs as inventory to a lot of golf stores does not pay off and will not be the main way clubs are sold in the future. Could be true already. Certainly the pandemic is driving more business to online only.

    The ProV1 made its debut on tour in October 2000 and for retail sale in December of 2000. The stamps labeled 1999 and 2001 in that pic are actually the same ball, Titleist just moved up the retail release by a few months due to popularity on tour and the planned retail stamp hasn’t been finalized/submitted to the USGA at that point so early batches had the first stamp.
