Download managers are not a magic bullet, they won't make a slow host fast. What they can do is improve speeds an amount and offer features like download recovery and persistence that you don't get with your browser. Don't expect an improvement in speeds more than a healthy fraction over your browser, not going to happen with any download manager.

Either A- Drag the file into the FDM window in the section that says "Download list is empty. Add new download URL." or B- Left click the file and select "copy link address" If A- a window should pop up with the file you want to download and the location you want to download it to. Just select your desired download location and press download.

It happens more rarely with jDownloader and IDM, but still it's something to be aware of.
I prefer XDM but I have heard IDM is good too. FDM is the best imo, since it offers everything for free. You can pirate IDM's software which is even better. On Linux, aria2 would be minimal and efficient, unless you want with GUI then FDM would be a good choice. I use uGet.

I know I'm late, but when I had this, all I had to do has plug in the charger (I had low battery) The biggest problem with using fdm is that there is no way to bind your VPN which makes it easy to get in ...
