United Bank Limited (UBL) ( Urdu: یونائیٹڈ بینک) is a Pakistani commercial bank headquartered in Karachi. It is a subsidiary of British multinational conglomerate, Bestway Group . It is listed on the Pakistan Stock Exchange and it has been designated as a domestic systemically important bank (D-SIB) by the State Bank of Pakistan.
The bank was incorporated on 26 June 1983. Akhtaruzzaman Chowdhury Babu served as the inaugural chairman of the United Commercial Bank PLC. In 2013, the bank underwent leadership changes with Sharif Zahir elected as vice chairman and M. A. Hashem re-elected as chairman. The government owns shares in the bank.
