    798. Jul 10, 2017. #1. I have a Blackmax 200 with the oil injection removed. I'm running 50:1 Quicksilver 2 stroke oil as a premix. Flipping around Youtube the other day I found a video of a guy who swears by Amsoil and was showing a reduced amount of smoke. So...if I'm at idle or trolling speed, +/- 2-3 mph, what oil is best to limit the ...

  3. Which oil to use on an older Evinrude motor - Boating Forum

4,698. May 29, 2011. #8. Re: Which oil to use on an older Evinrude motor. The XD-100 synthetic oil would be great for your motor but is not worth the extra cost of the premium oil. XD-50 would be the best all around lubricant as it is semi-synthetic, helps clean the carbon inside the motor, and it hardly smokes at all at 50:1.

  4. 40 HP Mercury 2 Stroke Oil Injected - iboats Boating Forums

    forums.iboats.com/threads/40-hp-mercury-2-stroke-oil...

Just recently bought a pontoon boat that came with a 40 HP Oil Injected Mercury Outboard motor (4-cylinder). Runs great, starts up on first try. The Boat itself is a 1993, so I'm not sure if the motor is the same year. I've had experience with one outboard motor before, which was a regular 2 stroke 40 hp Merc (premix).

The Penzoil Synthetic Blend is better oil, and you can find that stuff around a lot of places for like $12 gallon. Noi oil is gonna blow up your outboard, lean mixtures, lugging and not decarbing blows up outboards. If you use any TC-W3 rated oil, you will be fine.

  6. 2 Stroke Oils vs TC-W3 Oils - iboats Boating Forums

    forums.iboats.com/threads/2-stroke-oils-vs-tc-w3-oils.640017

TCW-III oil ratings are awarded to synthetic and non-synthetic oil. TCW-III oil is specified for Two Cycle, Water Cooled engines, like Outboards and other 2 cycle water cooled motors. Using no oil will always cause 2 cycle engine failure. Using TCW-III oil properly, in a clean, well-tuned motor will keep it running well.

Hi, I use that oil and consider it great lube with less smoke, but I dont think it's tc-w3 "certified" but compatible.

  8. What oil mixture for 2 stroke Johnson? - iboats Boating Forums

    forums.iboats.com/threads/what-oil-mixture-for-2-stroke...

6 gallons is 22.7 liters. Dividing that by 50, I get .454, so a little bit less than 1/2 liter, if my math is correct. Say 1/2 liter to be on the safe side. Also you should use marine TCW-3 rated 2-stroke oil. Bottles of marine oil usually have convenient charts on the back label showing how much oil for different amounts, in gallons and liter.

Sep 23, 2010. #11. Re: 2-stroke marine oil??? I ran a 1962 Merc 700 DR for 15 years on Amsoil 100-1 and it pulled tubes, skiiers, (once with a failed waterpump) broken boats and the compression is still 140 psi and the plugs lasted for seasons. I also ran Amsoil gear lube and because the gearcase didn't leak!

Modern 2-stroke engines are made with tighter tolerances ,ignition modules are fully electronic controlled ,alloys are far better and the most important 2T oil chemistry has improved by far regarding lubricity ,residual carbon ,hydrocarbon emissions and toxicity. HP Ultra is an outdated 2T oil. And unjustifiable expensive.
