Well, first off it's proprietary to Autodesk. LISP is an interesting language and rather suited for x, y, z, i.e. 3D data. Autocad itself doesn't use 3d meshes anymore, but almost any downloadable model out there (furniture, etc) still uses them. The ACIS importer that shoogen linked above is actually totally capable of handling the 3D data found inside dxf files.

This opens the download manager window where when it's fully downloaded you can press a button to load the file.
But it appear impossible to export a DXF file from FreeCAD. The "Allow FreeCAD to automatically download and update the DXF libraries" seems to be ineffective. Manual upload from the AddOn manager is sketchy and does not find either "DXF libraries" or a "Draft-DXF-importer" module. Finally I managed to download, unzip and copy these files into ...
