For those wondering what Inspire surgery is like, the biggest after-surgery pain is from the stimulating electrode, which goes up the neck to the nerve which opens the airway. Ironically, the pain it produces is almost exactly the same pain, in exactly the same perceived location, that I get after a night of severe sleep apnea.

Somehow a device that gives 68% improvement to patients with OSA doesn't inspire my confidence in the device. A device that sends current through my tongue also doesn't excite me either. I was checking into it. Don't have any other connection to it. Just wondering what people here on the board thought of it. Thanks, Grady

Hi All. New to the board, but i have been lurking for awhile. I have mostly been focusing on those who had, or were considering, Inspire. I have been suffering from sleep apnea for about 20 years. I could not tolerate a CPAP or BiPAP. Oral appliances didn't help either. So, after moving and getting a new ENT, he told me about Inspire.

I have had the inspire device for 6 months now. It really depends on how you can tolerate the volts. Stepping up once a week is good. After a couple of months you go back to a sleep study and get titrated. I had to increase after that and had a home sleep study. I was having 65 apneas an hour. I am now down to 7. It’s helped me immensely
