( 2014-06-23) The Boondocks is an American anime-influenced adult animated sitcom created by Aaron McGruder for Cartoon Network 's late-night programming block, Adult Swim. Three volumes were released between 2007 and 2008, covering all of the black-and-white cartoons produced from 1933 to 1943. In December 2018, a fourth volume featuring the first 14 color shorts from 1943 to 1945 was released on DVD and Blu-ray from Warner Home Video through the Warner Archive Collection.
