Hey everyone. A brief background and then I'll get to my questions: My UPS experience began when I was seasonally hired in Dec as a driver helper. After reporting for my first day of work, they offered me a position on the preload. I dove right in and spent the bulk of December working 10+ hour days as I'm sure everyone here did as well.

If you want to make money, work long unappreciated hours, have your body beat up then UPS is the way to go. Postal service is catching up with UPS as far as technology is concerned but they won't brow beat you over performance like UPS does. The job as a mail carrier is a walk in the park compared to a UPS package driver.
Extra work has always been awarded to the highest seniority employee within the classification first, then building seniority. There is a caviate for unforseen extra work where the company can use the highest seniority employee who's qualified and present. Each building and local have past practice exceptions.
