Kirkwood Public Library is part of the Municipal Library Consortium of St. Louis County (MLC) which consists of nine community libraries. Though we operate independently — our fines and loan periods may vary — access to one library provides access to all, including a collection of over 700,000 volumes! Passport Services. Passport services are available by appointment only Monday – Friday. To schedule an appointment, call Reference at (314) 821-5770, option 3. Due to staff availability we will not be processing passports on the following dates: October 14, 2024 – October 26, 2024. November 29, 2024 – November 30, 2024.
Our Library of Things collection includes a variety of technology and book kits. Take home technology & discover new ways to see the world! Our collection includes items such as specialized cameras, virtual reality headsets, tablets, and more. Use of technology devices requires the acceptance of the library’s Umbrella Technology Policy.
The Kirkwood Public Library (Library) meeting room is available for use by adult groups and adult-sponsored youth organizations when not in use for library events. The room is not available for private functions, including but not limited to parties, family reunions, weddings, or receptions.

Children entering grades 1-4 that are all level of readers, may apply to participate in KPL’s Summer Reading Buddies program, which pairs them with a teen volunteer Big Buddy for one-on-one reading time over four weekly sessions throughout the summer.
