As of 2019, Manufactured for Graf & Sons by Goex Powder Inc. While Goex has improved manufacturing processes and material quality, they have manufactured black powder using traditional materials to provide the same great ignition characteristics and uniform speed that master shooters and hunters have relied on for over 200 years.
The Graf & Sons house brand is the cheapest at $15 a pound; has anyone tried it and can comment on it? Member: Orange Gunsite Family, NRA-Life, ARTCA, American Legion, & the South Cuyahoga Gun Club. New Graf & Sons catalog. I got Graf's new catalog in the mail also, and it is good reading. The real problem is how to buy out of an empty store. If you go online to their website, you will find that brass, ammo, and even rimfire stuff is non-existant. That said, the same problem exists with many other places. 05-26-2010, 07:11 PM #5. Anyone order from them lately? How is delivery time and customer service?
I'll soon need to place a BP order and was wondering about the new Goex BP produced for Graf & Sons*. Any pros? cons? Thanks in advance! *previously produced by Wano (green label; red, white & blue "Schuetzen" label).
Maybe I'm the last to know. But the Grafs powder I have gotten before says "Imported by Schetzen .. for Graf & Sons". The bottle I got yesterday looked more like the Goex bottle. Sure enough, it says manufactured by Goex Powder inc.
Theoretically, the original balloon-head brass would have about 85% of the capacity of the EXTERNALLY-primed .45-70 brass. Yes, the bullet weight of the .45-60 WCF was 300 grains. If you desire to shoot smokeless, I would check the recommended loads for .45-70-300, multiply by .85 of the lightest load and work up carefully.
Posted October 20, 2020. Yes, Schuetzen made by Wano that Graf used to sell is slower by 100 FPS or so and it burns cleaner than regular Goex. Reason is Wano uses subcontracted Alder Buckthorn branches to make their charcoal, same as Swiss. Goex uses subcontracted yellow maple which has less sugar than Alder Buckthorn.
Swiss and Olde Ensford are sporting powders, Graf's is a good all around powder, fouling is softer and easier to clean than Goex, less deviation on velocity, ect. I will not buy standard Goex again, unless maybe to load shot shells. 01-03-2016, 10:11 AM #14. 451 Pete. Boolit Buddy.
Leupold makes a base set for the Japanese (Miroku) Winchester 1885 rifle with octagon barrel. Graf & Sons has them for $18.59.
