8/20/2023 8:39 AM. The word I hear from our rental manager is that things started off a little slow, but picked up to full speed by summer. Occupancy, in general, was about what it was last year. 2020 was the crazy year followed by 2021. Things dropped a bit in 2022 as the covid stuff was ending and this year was about the same as last year.

I just read an article in the OBX Voice that occupancy collections are down 23.55% this year compared to the same time last year. That’s seems pretty significant. LollyGirl The 25% down was in April and something about Easter being a bad time made the occupancy go down. We are waiting for May and June reports that might be down, but not by 25%.
We were due to start our 2 weeks on Sunday, September 21. Just so happened that Isabel passed through a few days prior. Twiddy kept us up to date on what was happening. On Sunday, at about 3:30pm Twiddy e-mailed us and told us that our cottage was ready for occupancy after 6:00pm Sunday.
