My wife's iPhone 13 Pro Max running iOS 16.5 just received a strange popup message stating "Passcode Expired: Your iPhone unlock passcode has expired" with a "Change Passcode" button. No matter what she did, the message kept returning.

If you get the pop up window with the Passcode Expired message and your iPhone is managed by your company, you will need to have your administrator reset your PIN. If you cannot close the pop up window by pressing the "Continue" button on the screen, the administrator will need to reset your device.

Some just make a password expiration policy and apply it to everything that is associated with that employer. Some don’t. Mine enforces 150 day expiration’s on our Office365 Accounts but they don’t enforce expiration’s on our personal device passcodes, so all I ever have to do is re-enter my MS password in mail when I change that.
Maybe vm passcode expired and or some new security measure being implemented by cell provider that ties into some new lower level function in iOS 9? As for 6 digits, maybe. 6 digit passcode was a bit of a hack in previous iOS versions.

my apple phone keeps saying my password is expired I can get in my phone but it pulls up a box saying my password has expired and must change it. I can't bypass it. I enter my password. It just keeps popping back up. If I shut my screen off and log back in I get one second to open something. So I keep shutting it off and coming back in.
