Mazda 3 Tire & Wheel Questions. Im trying to check and see if anyone has any ideas on what other wheels we can use on our 2005 Mazda 3. There must be a narrower steel wheel that would be usable. It just makes more sense to me to have 2 sets of wheels and tires, one being much narrower and snow worthy than the factory 17s.

The Mazda 3 5-door has a stiff suspension that calls for V-rated tires and benifits from their stiffer sidewalls. Lowering the speed ratings on tires in this car would not give the responsive and sporty ride that came with the V rated original tires.

HOwever, Mazda admits that this negative camber definitely leads to uneven wear relative to the inner and outer edges of the tires. They DO wear out faster. Mazda dealers have admitted to this. I have been told by the Mazda people that the Mazda 3 was designed to be a local commuter car- not good for long distance driving.

July 2010. Of course. As tires wear down, they become unbalanced on the wheels. Vibration w/o braking is usually (1) unbalanced wheel/tire (2) alignment. If it is alignment, you can spot problem when looking at the thread blocks of your tires. Uneven wear or one side wears more than the other on each tread block.

If you've only done 2 rotations, I would hope you're only around 12,000 miles on the tires. I rotate about every 6,000 miles and generally get 50,000+ out of a set of tires on the manual transmission passenger vehicles I've had (Nissan Sentra, Altima, Versa) Rotation and proper tire pressures are two easy things to do to maximize tire life.

Mazda5 Winter Snow Tires. sandymc Member Posts: 3. January 2010. Hi, I am new to this forum and I am trying to decide what brand of snow tires to buy. I plan on getting the rims from a Mazda dealership. They are trying to sell me tires from Sweden but I think they are Finnish, maybe Nokian Hakkapeliitta. I could be wrong and they are from Sweden.

Mazda CX-7 Tires and Wheels. Mazda is tricking/ripping off new CX-7 buyers with a last minute tire spec change. All the reviewers had CX7 with Eagle RS-A M+S. One of the reviews specifically mentions they were good tires. Well now Mazda is switching to some of the worst tires you can get - Bridgestone Turanza EL42...

The Mazda5 have fairly aggressive tires for handling purposes, and I suspect the RAV-4 tires are for mud & snow in keeping with the SUV imagine. So the Mazda will out handle the RAV-4 in dry weather and have a less likelihood of tipping over. As for the long sound related to brakes in the wet weather.

There is some good info to be found. But I had the same experience with our 2006. The Mazda dealership acted like it was a big surprise. Then I found this forum. It's discouraging since the vehicle is built pretty well. CU Reports gives the Mazda 5 high ratings. Last tires on our 2006 were Kumho. I was replacing tires 2 at a time.
