paulsmedia.au. Jan 13, 2017. #1. It is VERY rare to find street photography images on this site! There are plenty people-in-streets, type photos but virtually none that try to capture the "streets" instead of the people! I prefer to think of what's on display, as "street cinéma vérité" instead. So let's see some real street photography!

  3. X100(s) settings for stealth street photography? - FujiX-Forum

Id maybe try 1/500 ish maybe a little higher, f8-16 would be no problem during daylight. even in the heavy shade your iso would stay under 1000 (not tha thats a big issue). you could always "pull your camera out of a bag" and snap the shutter (zone focused would be really easy to manage f8+) Reply to ChaseG.

The tried-and-true method is to preset the focus manually, use an aperture between ƒ/5.6-16 and simply walk closer or farther away so the subject is in the focus zone. The focus zone can be seen on the distance scale in the viewfinder (the 2.8/14, 1.4/16 and 1.4/23 lenses have it printed on the barrel).

  6. Street photography - what is it I don't understand?

    www.fujix-forum.com/threads/street-photography-what-is-it-i-dont-understand...

In my very personal opinion of street photography, there are masters, but, as with most photographic images today, due to the sheer drop of technical expertise, an enormous amount of street photography (or any type of photography for that matter) is a long way from art. Art is a highly personal, highly opinionated theatre of expression.

most members here know about the "decisive moment" because most of us have studied the history of street photography. we all see some images that were obviously taken at a precise moment in time the photographer felt was appropriate to communicate something to their viewers. i also submit that the vast majority of street shots are more of a ...

If you look at great street photography images, in general they have more going for them than simply "being there" - they were also executed with aplomb. There are lots of other genres of photography that sometimes I don't understand, but in general I am able to appreciate the technical or artistic ability.

I have the T and use it extensively for street photography. My set up is multi/matrix metering, aperture priority and one of three auto settings: ISO 200=6400, min 1/125; ISO 800-6400, min 1/125; ISO 800-6400, min 1/60. Zone focusing usually set to 2 m. Of course, I use variations on these settings if required. Examples:

For night street photography, I would take the 18 1.4. Start at 1/250 at 1.4 in manual mode, and then adjust ISO accordingly. From there you can adjust shutter/aperture based on taste. 1/250 is fast enough to mostly freeze people moving about.
