Settimo Vittone (Piedmontese: Ël Seto Viton) is a comune (municipality) in the Metropolitan City of Turin, Piedmont, northern Italy. It is located about 50 kilometres (31 mi) north of Turin , in the Canavese traditional region.
Montalto Dora Castle, known from the mid-12th century but rebuilt in the 18th-20th centuries. It has a massive mastio and a chapel with 15th-century frescoes. The castle was owned by the bishopric of Ivrea, from which it went to the Duchy of Savoy in the 14th century. Villa Casana, dating to the late 16th century but enlarged around 1918.
Yon was born in Settimo Vittone, (Piedmont, Italy). His earliest studies in music began at age 6 with Angelo Burbatti, organist at the Cathedral of Ivrea. At the conservatory of Milan he was Polibio Fumagalli's pupil. From 1901-1904 he was enrolled at the conservatory in Turin, studying organ with Remondi and composition with Giovanni Bolzoni.
