I am not looking for a competitive team builder. I am more looking for a story progression one. Maybe that show’s the availability of a pokemon based on how deep into the story is. One that could also show that I have chosen 3 pokemon that are weak to ice and have 4 resistant to steel. Etc.
A team with good synergy is usually built from the ground up with this synergy concept in mind, rather than the "I need defense vs pokemon X so tack on pokemon Y". It makes the focus about the team, rather than the opposition. Otherwise, you have a team that feels somewhat disjointed. However, the holy grail here is almost a catch-22 concept.
