BradleyRogers805. Created on September 17, 2022. Cant uninstall McAffee Security scan plus from Windows 10. Inside the Uninstall App page, buttons greyed out. I needed to install Adobe Viewer fast. Afterwards find it installed McAffee. popups, new network detected? no, it hasnt changed for years.
Mcafee doesn't want you to uninstall their software. They make that perfectly clear when you try to uninstall it. Don't go to the website that is creating the problem.

I have Windows Defender Security Center that contains McAfee Virus Scan and Firewall on my pc. I also have McAfee Security Scan Plus which came packaged with my pc when I bought it. I was told by someone who was fixing my computer that I do not need to have McAfee Scan Plus in addition to Windows Defender.
I've had my current setup for about 18 months and had uninstalled the McAfee that came with it. If anything updated and brought the Mcafee back, I don't know what it could be. Plus, I just don't see how it could get installed without my permission and wake my PC and close and reopen 365 up in the process. Very disturbing.

I have been trying to get rid of McAfee Security Scan on the "programs" list but it tells me I cannot uninstall as I don't have sufficient access -- I had McAfee uninstalled last year when I had my computer serviced and they installed Kaspersky instead -- which I have been very happy with.
