  2. how to clean INSIDE of windshield? | Tesla Motors Club

I avoid ammonia based cleaners, so no windex or other household cleaners. You can use just plain water or tint-safe window cleaner. Simply spray on windshield, wipe off using 1 MF towel, then immediately buff and dry using a second MF towel. Work in sections, not the whole windshield at once. Using just one microfiber towel leaves streaks for me.

I find that Windex streaks. But it does a better job on the bug guts. I also use the two towel approach. I use scrupulously clean micro fiber cloths that I only use on the car's glass. I dampen one and use the other to buff right away when doing the inside. On the outside, I spray first, wipe with a sacrificial cloth and then do like the inside.

I use Invisible Glass cleaner (the spray and the aerosol version) on a clean microfiber cleaning cloth. The Invisible Glass wand makes it easy to clean all corners of the inside of the windshield and the hatch glass. Re microfiber cloth: Wash microfiber fabric in cold water, never warm or hot water. Do not use fabric softener.

If you are an ONR (optimum no rinse) user, wring out your wash towel very well. Wipe the inside of your windshield down and dry it with a quality waffle weave micro fiber. Then clean the rest of your interior glass including pano this way. You can also clean your 17" screen, dash, interior door panels and leather seats. Dry each area after ...

I wash my car including the glass. Then clean the glass with a glass cleaner. I happen to like Meguiars. Then, here is my secret. I take small cotton hand towel and soak it with just water. Wipe the glass a section at a time and dry with another cotton towel until the glass is slippery smooth. No streaks from the cleaner.

  8. Cannot clean Model 3 windows for the life of me. - Tesla Motors...

I have two additional suggestions. When you clean the outside, clean in up and down movements. When you clean the inside, clean in side to side movements. When the sunlight hits the window, note the direction of the streaks. If the streak looks like it is up and down, you know the film is on the outside.

FYI I wiped off / cleaned the blades with some glass cleaner and microfiber towel. You wouldn't believe how much black came off onto the towel. I didn't get it all off yet, but it reduced the streaks significantly. Going to try cleaning with some rubbing alcohol.

  10. Cleaning the windshield Magic Eraser? Claybar? Invisible Glass?

    teslamotorsclub.com/tmc/threads/cleaning-the-windshield...

When I clean the outside with invisible glass and a micro fiber cloth it's as if little bits of cloth stick to the glass. It gives the appearance of looking like it's pitted. This was the same issue when new on the Model 3 and again brand new on the X.

  11. Help! Windshield wiper problems | Tesla Motors Club

    teslamotorsclub.com/tmc/threads/help-windshield-wiper...

Windshield replaced 1x; Even with the brand new windshield (just got back from service centre), the problem persists. For some reason the (replacement and original) windshield feels super "grippy" - I can't even wipe it with a dry microfibre towel (inside or outside) Video unlike the side (door) windows, which feel very smooth.
