3rd gen sucks. Buy 2nd gen or 4thgen. 3rd gen feels cheep, all cloth and softer materials of 2nd gen are plastic in 3rd gen. I don't care too much about the interior. All I care is it's reliable, can go for long distances, is comfortable to drive, and can do some off roading. And plus, I actually prefer cloth seats over the leather.
The Forester has a CD player, knobs for adjusting the HVAC, great visibility, large sunroof. The adaptive cruise control, and blind spot monitoring are wonder for safety. Most impressive is how planted the Subaru’s feel on the road, dry and snow covered. I choose the Subaru over my 4x4 Silverado during inclement weather.
