Employee / Supplier Purchase Programs. sarti Member Posts: 16. January 2000 edited March 2014. The company I work for is offering us a deal like. the GM employees get, we get the discount plus 3%.
So, my grand total in fees to purchase a car in Pennsylvania were $87.25, under the GM Supplier Discount program. If I was purchasing a car "normally" (without the GM Supplier Discount), my total fees would have been $123.50 - a difference of $36.25.
After I posted this I found an article online that says the supplier discount is $200 over invoice plus any rebates available, not sure how true that is. The problem is that invoice is kind of a moving target.
Agreed. Also beware if your program is an employee program - even an affiliate employee program. Chances are that IRS is after you. One guy was very excited about a $6,000 off MSRP on a GMC truck he bought. But the program actually entitles IRS to add that full $6,000 to his regular income and tax at the marginal rate with elevated income.
September 2002. graphicguy's ball park was for cars, is my guess. Brother-In-Law was just over, looking at a Tahoe with supplier pricing MSRP was $36,725 and Supplier was $32,395.64. These numbers look simular to the one you priced at Edmunds. So supplier looks to be a smidge above Edmunds invoice.
May 2007. Gm supplier is a good price. Its an easy way for a no haggle deal. The price is about 1% over invoice and here in Iowa its the best deal you will get on an Enclave or an Acadia. We are a middle size dealership and have yet to sell an Acadia for under sticker except for a couple of supplier deals.
Looking to trade the Hummer H3 in on a Chevy Tahoe Hybird and was wondering if anyone had one of those certificate numbers for the discount. Hi folks. Learn more about Chevrolet Tahoe Hybrid at the Edmunds.com Car Forums!
Saab provides a GM program/supplier price list that you may request by calling Saab's Customer Assistance Center at 1-800-955-9007. You may also ask your sales representative to show you a copy of the dealer invoice. You can then compare your cost to the Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price to calculate your discount."
The dealer is not required to participate in the program. I would shop a couple of dealers first, to get some real-world negotiation numbers, then take this program to your preferred dealer, to see how it matches up.
