Some middle ground movies to check out, these are a bit more gory but all very disturbing. “The Woman” (2011), its sequel. “Darlin” (2019) “Raw” (2017) If you’re in the mood for sheer depravity aren’t overly concerned about the quality of the movie both “Trauma” (2017) and “Grotesque” (2011) are horrific watches.
Don’t do research into these if you haven’t seen them, just go in blind. Inside (French 2007) Them (French 2006) Frontiers (French 2006) is worth checking out but not as scary as the other two. Hereditary. If you liked Martyrs check out Ghostland from same director.
The Shining (1980) made me afraid of long bathrooms. The Thing (1982) is a must-see if you've never seen it. Event Horizon (1997) made me lose interest in pursuing a career in space exploration. Final Destination (2000) had me constantly viewing my surroundings as a death trap.
Aside from what I listed above, here are some other movies that scared me the first time: Sweetheart, Crush the Skull, Oldboy, Joy Ride, The Last Exorcism, The Endless, Spree, Coherence, and I Saw The Devil. There’s nothing better than a good scary movie. I hope you find something that gives you that thrill.

As someone with a nut allergy, Hereditary is very scary. Can confirm that the allergic reaction was the scariest part for those of us with allergies. The last 10 minutes is what fucked me up as a person with no allergies. I was fine for that whole movie. until the last 10 minuets.
