To my dismay, the manual states: Caution: Do not add formulated washer. fluids that contain water repellent or bug. wash. These fluids can cause streaking, smearing, and squeaking or other noises. I've read some of the older threads here on this topic but that didn't help much either.

Nov 15, 2022. #19. 2022m3awd - I have noticed that using the original Tesla wiper fluid did help the smoothness with which the wiper blades worked. Sometimes i noticed that the blades make “thud thud” noise and the wipers seem to vibrate while wiping. Splashing some of the wiper fluid reduced the noise and vibration.

I don't really want to deal with the hassle of going through service, so I was just going to buy some fluid myself. I noticed that Tesla uses the same type of windshield wiper fluid as Mercedes. It is super effective at cleaning road grime off windshields, but had a thick blue tint that needs to be manually wiped off A pillars and other painted areas of your car. Much stronger stuff than the watery stuff available at auto stores.

This was a low-viscosity, blue fluid that came in a gallon jug that my wife put in the garage right next to the windshield washer fluid. So guess what, I ended up filling my car with antiseptic instead of washer fluid!

After treating the window, simply use a good quality windshield wiper fluid (I like Sonax) with the appropriate temperature for your area. One really important thing is to ensure that the window is spotless and clean before applying Aquapel. You don’t want to coat any contaminants or dirt on the window.

  10. Windshield washer fluid running over side window

Jan 16, 2021. #1. Hi, every time I spray washer fluid over the windscreen, the wipers move it to the left side of the windshield. So far so good. But depending on the speed you’re driving it runs over the side window (driver side). If the side window is closed, the window will be all dirty and smudgy (if that is really the correct description).

  11. How does the car know the wiper fluid is low? - Tesla Motors Club

Active Member. I that most windshield washer systems either use a float inside the tank or a fluid sensor mounted low inside the tank. A stuck float or bad sensor could fool the car into thinking that you're low on fluid. It could also be a loose / broken / intermittent electrical connection to said float/sensor that causes the problem.
