Yes, that is a reasonable price for long-term parking in central (not Midtown) Manhattan. You describe a location near the 1-2-3 subway at 72nd Street. It's also pretty close to a West Side Highway entrance/exit, albeit one that often has a ten minute wait to get in and out of.
SpotHero is a scam. Just pay for a regular parking spot. The spot they reserved for me was incredibly difficult to find and when I finally did find it there was another car parked there. I called their customer service and of course no one answered so I had to go pay for parking anyway.
