I would guess that my system at home costs about as much as a Z06. I own a 3LZ Z06. The sound from the Bose 10 speaker system in my C7 Z06 is amazing. Don't let the low-class haters fool you. It's worth the upgrade. Bose spent a lot of money to be sure the sound in the C7 3LZ is amazing. The haters on this thread obviously don't own a 3LZ.
Fact is: the Bose speakers in C4 Corvettes have paper-based cones. With the passing years, the 'stuff' originally used to make the paper material 'stiff' has deteriorated, which allows for major flex along the paper surface when you crank it up. Flex = distortion, and lack of volume, and overall cruddy sound.
The number of speakers and total amplifier power (using bogus measurement methods) are what most buyers pay attention to. For a Bose system, the one in the C8 sounds pretty darn good, but it's anything but high-end audio quality. Given the noise level in the cabin, it's probably as good as needed.

High fidelity requires a sound system to reproduce sound exactly the way the source material was recorded.
Very simple rule. Anytime you have your stereo cranked up, you are damaging your hearing. If you can speak in a normal tone like you would use at a large dinner table or gathering, and hear your voice clearly over the music, the damage is minimal, especially if you keep that volume up for 30 min or less.
Bose Gold Radio system 91 convertible Vet. I have found out that my radio needs repair $385. 3 of the 4 speaker amps are also bad. I have priced them at $150-$200 per amp. This is in an attempt to keep my 91 original. Any help with pricing or know where i can get these amps/radio less expensive, please let me know.
