    I spent a lot of time reading through British V8 write ups for every TR6 and TR4 302/289 conversion to look for inspiration and warnings. I knew I wanted old school, so EFI was out, no automatics would be considered, and it needed to look like it could have been built by the factory when it was done.

    Has anyone run a Rotus V8, yet ? Likely Fred Key will be first. My gripe with these is cost, scarcety and cost of shims/labor to maintain valve lash. Rumor is, a Volvo 4 vale head might work. Biggest problem with putting an I4 head on a V8 is cam sequencing is always wrong, unless you convert to a 180 deg. crank,( fire two cylinders at once).

    There will be allot of fab work with whatever V8 you choose and will need to also decide what you want to use for a rear diff as the stock unit wont even come close to holding the torque. You don't need to go to a GT6 for extra room , just use a GT6 bonnet, its a direct bolt on for a spitfire and still looks correct to anyone except triumph ...
