In short, the Pentax DA* 300mm f4 lens is FANTASTIC and worth every penny. It is sharp and contrasty, autofocus works well, built to last a long long time. It is a large lens but that's just because it is a quality 300/f4 lens. It actually handles fairly well despite the size, and I handhold all my nature shots.
My experience has been a bit different. The images are, to my eye, very slightly sharper when using the leaf shutter at 1/500th versus the camera's focal-plane shutter. However, my leaf shutter seems to be timed slightly differently and test photos with the leaf versus FP shutters resulted in images with differing contrast profiles and color casts.
By PF Staff in Review Announcements on Oct 26, 2021. Prior to its debut in March 2021, the Pentax K-3 Mark III (also written K-3 III) was without a doubt the most anticipated Pentax camera since the full-frame K-1. With an ISO range of up to 1.6 million, 12 FPS burst shooting, 101 autofocus points, and 4K video support, the Pentax K-3 III is ...
165mm f4 LS or 90mm LS (leaf shutter) lenses. All photographers will have their own preferred lens for portraiture. You will need to experiment with several to find one that suits you. What is best for others with a lot of experience may be totally unsuitable for you.
Sharpness: 7 Aberrations: 9 Bokeh: 9 Handling: 10 Value: 10 Camera Used: K-1 II. This lens is a nice all-around performer for an f/2.8 zoom. It's quick to focus and captures colors well. It's quite lightweight for what it is, so even on a K-1 II it doesn't feel like a weight to carry around.
The flash sync speed is slow at 1/30s, but there are Pentax 6x7 leaf shutter lenses with a sync speed of 1/500s to compensate. Summary: I really like the Pentax 67 camera and I'm glad I picked it over the other bodies/formats I was looking at. I mostly use the 67 around town or on short road trips where the size of the 6x7 system is not an issue.
Set the leaf shutter to "o", which opens the shutter for viewing. Set the focal plane shutter to the desired speed (which will be 60, 125, 250, or 500--the speeds provided by the leaf shutter). Adjust the ISO and aperture to center the metering display. Set the leaf shutter to the desired speed. Set the focal plane shutter in the camera to 1/8.
PENTAX Japan introduced the medium format PENTAX 645D digital SLR on March 11, 2010. The camera boasts a 40MP Kodak sensor with an image area of 44mm x 33mm, is weather resistant, and specified to work down to -10 degrees C. It is fully compatible with the PENTAX 645 A and FA lines of medium format lenses (listed in our lens database).
The Pentax MZ-3 is an upgraded version of the MZ-5N/ZX-5N SLR and was available only in select markets. It has a top shutter speed of 1/4000 s where the MZ-5N/ZX-5N tops out at 1/2000 s. Other than that, the cameras are identical. The control layout is classic with a shutter speed dial, an exposure compensation dial, levers for metering pattern ...
The genuine Pentax K-mount to Q-mount adapter, officially known as the "Pentax Adapter Q for K-mount Lenses", is in our opinion the best thing that has happened to the Q mirrorless system since the price of the Pentax Q body itself was dropped from $799 to under $349 (in the US). This handly adapter allows you to mount Pentax (D)SLR lenses on ...
